FOOD TRUCK FRENZY IS BACK

JILLIAN FOLLERT jfollert@durhamregion.com

After a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, Food Truck Frenzy is back.

The popular event organized by the Rotary Club of Whitby runs May 28 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and May 29 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Iroquois Park.

This year's festival will feature more than 30 food trucks as well as live music and activities for the kids.

The Rotary Club of Whitby estimates more than 40,000 people attend the event each year.

Admission is $5 per person, or a maximum of $10 per family -- 100 per cent of admission proceeds are used by the Rotary Club of Whitby to support local charities and programs.

Since 2014, Food Truck Frenzy has raised more than $600,000, which has been donated to causes including Abilities Centre, Whitby Public Library, Durham College, Grandview Kids and Ontario Shores Foundation for Mental Health.
