MEET MARJORIE KNIGHT, NDP CANDIDATE

NAME: Marjorie Knight

RIDING: Cambridge

PARTY: Ontario NDP

AGE: 58

OCCUPATION: Family Outreach Worker.

RESIDENCE: Hespeler area of Cambridge

PAST POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: I entered politics through the $15andFairness movement. That fight showed us what we can accomplish when we rise together and drove me to run in 2018. I am a housing advocate, sit on the board of the Cambridge Shelter and ACCKWA, and am again running to be Cambridge's next MPP.

HOW WOULD YOU GRADE THE PROVINCE'S COVID-19 RESPONSE AND WHY?: D

The current government failed to protect seniors and workers in LTC (long-term care) and invest in our health-care system. Instead of offering support to small businesses, Ford gave out favours to his buddies. Our province was left without leadership. I want to make sure we remember that it was the NDP under the leadership of Andrea Horwath that fought for smaller class sizes, sick days for workers, and stood up for families.

IF ELECTED (RE-ELECTED), I PLEDGE TO ... be a voice for action in our community. Cambridge families deserve an MPP that will work for them. I will work with everyone to find solutions to the problems we face as a community, and advocate what really matters, like housing, health care, and making sure life is affordable for families.
