The program offers free expert home retrofit coaching, access to finance and great cashback rebates to help Durham Region homeowners enjoy a smoother and less cumbersome journey to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and save more on energy bills.

For a greener home, there are a number of retrofit upgrades you can consider. For example- your home can better insulated to reduce the energy used in heating. There are also smart thermostats that can automatically adjust your heating and air conditioning, cutting energy use by eight per cent or more. New and more efficient furnaces can be installed, and you can also upgrade to a heatpump for more efficient heating and cooling and lots more.

Home Retrofit rebates and financing available to Durham Homeowners

It starts with connecting with a trained and certified Home Energy Coach who can identify energy-saving opportunities throughout your home and give you independent expert advice on the best retrofits tailored to your home energy needs at no cost. You can get up to four consultations with the coach to ensure your home retrofit process is on the right track.

The coaches will guide you on accessing low-interest retrofit financing through Pathwise and Rapport credit unions to help you get started on your retrofit process! These experts will also point you toward the available energy-saving incentive programs in the Region. In fact, homeowners can receive up to $10,000 in cashback rebates for deep retrofits following evaluations.
