Live theatre is back in Brock.

The Beaverton Town Hall Players are ready to return to the stage with an upcoming production of That Pioneer Spirit.

The play, written by local resident Paul Tremeer, focuses on a pair of newlyweds that move to a farm from the big city — and shenanigans ensue.

"We're really excited about it, it's quite a funny play," said Pat Rose, president of Beaverton Town

Hall Players and co-director and co-producer of the production.

The production attracted veteran George Timms to reprise a role he played in the 1992 production of the play, alongside Kathy Davidson. She is co-directing and co-producing alongside Rose and starring, a role she has also previously embodied.

"It's really been great, everything is falling into place quite well," said Rose of the casting. "Everyone's doing an amazing job, and they're really excited to bring it to life."

That Pioneer Spirit debuts Sept. 30 at 8 p.m. at the Beaverton Town Hall Theatre, with additional shows Oct. 1, 7 and 8 at 8 p.m. and 2 p.m. matinees Oct. 2 and 9. Tickets are $20 and can be

purchased at Maxine's Fashions in Beaverton or by calling 705-426-7734. Visit www.bthp.ca for more info.
