Brightonians and tourists alike will have a novel way to shop locally this summer with the popping up of "The Shed at King Ed."

The Municipality of Brighton has announced that there will be a new space for pop-up vendors at King Edward Park on Elizabeth Street.

With entrepreneurs changing frequently, there are ongoing reasons to pop by for the pop-up shopping experience.

"We are so excited to announce The Shed at King Ed, Brighton's new pop-up vendor space in King Edward Park, will be popping up at the end of June," the municipality said.

Located in the newly renovated ball canteen, The Shed will feature three modular vendor spaces for local vendors to showcase their talents and wares. Vendors will rotate every two weeks "so there will always be something new to experience."

This project is aimed at supporting the online and small businesses in Brighton that don't have brickand-mortar locations. "The Shed will provide them with the opportunity to test the market, while also creating a destination to showcase all that Brighton has to offer for local tourists or those just looking to try something new," the municipality added.

The concept for the popup vendor space originated nearly three years ago. The endeavour has involved collaboration across multiple municipal departments.

"We are so excited to finally see it come to life this summer and hope you are too."

Those interested in being a vendor this year can submit an application through the municipal website.
