ROTARY CLUB MEMBERS CELEBRATE $20,000 PAYMENT TO ED'S HOUSE

Members of the Rotary Club of Northumberland Sunrise recently presented representatives of Ed's House with a cheque for $20,000.

This contribution was the final installment of the club's $200,000 commitment towards the palliative care centre in Cobourg.

"It was a privilege to support the capital campaign to build Ed's House," said Melanie Racine, club president.

"Since Ed's House was opened in 2020, it is clear to our membership this service is important and valued by many in the community. In fact, my own family experienced the services at Ed's House when my grandfather needed end-of-life care."

The Rotary Club of Northumberland Sunrise held various fundraising events over the past few years, which included Max Sold auctions, an annual golf tournament, and Mother's Day brunch boxes. "Our members worked towards making

this donation possible and we are proud to have played a role in such an important cause," said Racine.

Community Care Northumberland said it's "incredibly grateful" for the support.

"Their commitment to our mission of providing compassionate end-of-life care to our community is truly inspiring," said Trish Baird, CEO of Community Care Northumberland.

"This donation will make a significant impact on the lives of our patients and their families, allowing us to continue to provide the highest quality of care and support during their time of need. Thank you to all Sunrise members for your generosity and for helping us to fulfill our vision of creating a place where every person can experience comfort, dignity, and peace during their final days."
