Adjoining buildings are being proposed for a downtown location across from the Barrie Public Library.
A site plan has been submitted along Owen Street for the structure, which is still under review.
JUST THE FACTS:
• Called The Residences on Owen, 278 residential units are being proposed. Underground parking would be included in the building. Visit roobarrie.com for details.
• The proposed development would have 950 square metres of ground floor commercial space.
• One side of the building near Worsley Street would be 20 storeys tall, with the other side, along McDonald Street, being eight storeys tall. A sixth floor amenity level is proposed to connect the two towers.
• Once built, a dedicated concierge would greet residents and guests, as well as show people to the themed dining rooms, a theatre, games room, wine bar — and even an indoor pet spa for furry friends.
• The project is 90 per cent sold out, according to the roobarrie.com website.
• The entire block is known as 55-57 McDonald St., 61-67 Owen St. and 70-78 Worsley St. and site plans are available on the city's website.
