The Green Party is committed to looking after people and the planet we live in. We know that if we do not change the way we treat our planet, we will not be leaving a comfortable living environment for our children and grandchildren. In order to

give them the same opportunities that we have, we need to reduce carbon emissions, manage our land use, and preserve biodiversity. Implementing a green economy now will not only create new jobs, it will save money in the future. An estimated $9 billion was spent to clean up after the floods, caused by climate change, in British Columbia last year. If we do not act now, these types of damages and costs will increase.

Looking after people involves ensuring all residents have access to universal health care, adequate housing and quality education. Universal health care includes dental and pharmacare, support for mental health and quality support for senior care. In a rural riding as RNP, there are additional challenges in ensuring all residents can reach a health care facility, or that care can be brought out to them.
