NDP CANDIDATE KEITH NUNN
KEITH NUNN IS A TECHNOLOGY CONSULTANT RUNNING IN POLITICS FOR THE FIRST TIME
CANDIDATE NAME: Keith Nunn
RIDING: Simcoe-Grey
PARTY: Ontario New Democratic Party
AGE: 55
OCCUPATION: Technology consultant
RESIDES IN: Corktown
PAST POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: I have a long history in politics, but, until now, I was always on the side of activism and community organizing. I have worked for change throughout my life in the areas of local development, youth inclusion, the environment,
2SLGBTQ+ inclusion and Indigenous justice. This is my first foray into electoral politics.
HOW WOULD YOU GRADE THE PROVINCE'S COVID-19 RESPONSE AND WHY?: D. The auditor general's report on the pandemic response showed all the ways the (Doug) Ford government failed to protect Ontarians, including outdated emergency response plans, understaffed and crowded hospitals, and a lack of governance structure for the pandemic response. Ford increased the number of people at the decision-making table from 21 to 500 members. The AG plainly said that the command structure "was not led by public health expertise," leading to poorly informed and delayed decisions.
IF ELECTED I PLEDGE TO: Work for the health of our communities in three ways. First, by bringing more family doctors to the area. Strengthening protection of the natural environment we need for our mental and physical health. Improving the livability of our town centres, so we can walk more and drive less.
