MCNALLY HOUSE TO THROW ROCKIN' THE HOSPICE PARTY IN MAY

THE PARTY IS A FUNDRAISER FOR THE HOSPICE AND WILL FEATURE LIVE MUSIC, BUFFET, AND MORE

Get ready to dance the night away in the name of a great cause at Rockin' the Hospice.

On May 28, McNally House Hospice in Grimsby is throwing its annual retro dance party at West Niagara Agricultural Centre and Fairgrounds.

There will be live music from Sandy Vine and the Midnights, a late-night buffet, a silent auction and a wine pyramid raffle where guests can try to win one of 40 different wines, most of which are local.

Amanda Black, community engagement co-ordinator

at the hospice, said they're hoping for a great night.

"(One) where everyone gets on the dance floor and stays on the dance floor," she said.

McNally House has been holding the event for 10 years, but this is the first in-person event that the hospice has thrown since February 2020, with other events being cancelled due to COVID-19.

"We're hoping people will come out and return to normalcy with us," said Black.

The previous Rockin' the Hospice event raised

$18,000, and the team at the McNally House is hoping to at least meet that figure.

McNally House is a sixbed residential hospice in Grimsby providing specialized palliative care, free of charge, to those with a life-limiting illness. It requires $800,000 in donations every year to continue running.

The party is being held at West Niagara Agricultural Centre and Fairgrounds, 7402 Mud St. W. in Grassie. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased on the hospice's website, Mcnallyhousehospice.com.
